Hermès / carré 140 / scarf 140 / ‘Pegase Pop’

Pégase, la monture des Dieux, le cheval ailé du monde antique transfiguré par la magie de la culture pop… D’un coup de sabot, il sait faire jaillir une source, mais son nom est aussi associé à l’orage car Zeus le chargea d’apporter le tonnerre et les éclairs sur l’Olympe. C’est ainsi que Dimitri Rybaltchenko a choisi de représenter le frère ailé du cheval cher à Hermès, jaillissant des nuages, surgissant des éclairs. Hachures, formes accentuées par leurs contours, couleurs en aplats, jeux de pointillés, explosion de couleur, efficacité du trait…  Le pop art américain n’est pas loin !

Mount of the gods, friend of the Muses, Pegasus, the winged horse of Antiquity is transfigured by the magic of Pop culture. He can summon a spring, gushing forth with one strike of his hoof, but his name is associated with storms, too – Zeus chose him to carry thunderbolts and lightning to Mount Olympus. And it is in this role that Dimitri Rybaltchenko chooses to depict the winged brother of the beloved Hermès horse, bursting out from behind the clouds in a brilliant flash of lightning.
